FSU football: 3 major things to look for in Louisville game

One area FSU football has to clean up on the offensive end is in the red zone. The Noles left too many points on the field against LSU.
They only scored 2 of 4 opportunities against the Tigers, and only one of those scores was a touchdown. The red zone was an area the offense excelled last season, scoring touchdowns at a 74 percent clip.
Through two games, they have scored touchdowns at a 54 percent clip, which needs to improve if they want to take the next step in their progression. Louisville’s defense has allowed touchdowns to score at a 62.5 percent clip.
The FSU defense has only allowed four red zone attempts and two touchdowns through the first two games. Louisville’s offense has only scored one touchdown in five red zone trips.
It’s still a small sample size and I’m sure they’ll improve that number somewhat as the year continues. I’ve talked bout not trusting settling for field goals before, and I’m curious as to how Mike Norvell will handle those situations as they arise.
Personally, I’m not settling for a field goal unless I have to, and definitely not one over 40 yards away.
