FSU football has a bye week to observe one of the craziest days in recent college football memory.

No. 1 Alabama nearly(and should have) lost against Texas as a -21 betting favorite. No. 6 Texas A&M lost at home to Appalachian State as -18 betting favorites.

The kicker is A&M only scored 14 points(7 offensive), and Appalachian allowed 63 points against UNC with a freshman QB in the prior week. No. 8 Notre Dame lost at home against Marshall as -20.5 betting favorites, and No. 19 Wisconsin lost at home against unranked Washington State as -17.5 betting favorites.

The football gods clearly wanted to have some fun Saturday, and I’m happy the Noles were not in action, so nothing crazy could happen, especially since they’ve gotten off to their best start since 2016.

The Noles will travel to Louisville Friday night looking to avenge losses from the last two years. The Noles will enter the game as slight betting favorites at -1.5, which implies they’d be a slightly larger favorite if the game was in Doak Campbell Stadium.

It’s the most important game on the schedule for the Noles after the upset win over LSU. I wrote about Louisville’s comeback victory over UCF and what that meant for FSU. Here are three ways the craziness of week two benefits the Noles.
