FSU football: What’s the next challenge after beating LSU?
By Kelvin Hunt
I’m sure you know by now that FSU football got a huge win on the national stage against LSU Sunday night.
Many folks didn’t give the Noles a legit shot at winning the game, but if you read my work or listen to my podcast, we were spot on about lots of things in the game, especially how FSU’s defense could alter things for LSU’s offense.
We saw the reaction from the fans, players, and former players, and it was great to see so many happy faces. The Noles have a scheduled bye-week before traveling to Louisville to play in prime time for the second consecutive game.
I know most folks think of Louisville as the next challenge, but that’s not it. It’s getting healed up and rested during the bye week.
The next challenge for this FSU football team is to flush the LSU win and re-focus on themselves and what they do.
We’ve seen this focus in the first two games with great results. However, there’s a saying about how it’s not about how you handle failure but your successes.
It’ll be easy for most to keep looking back at what they did against in their last game, but their preparation and performance in the upcoming Louisville game will tell us a lot about where this team and program is under Mike Norvell.
So far, they’ve had a singular focus, but will they be able to keep that after such a huge win? We saw them do it after a huge win over Miami last year, traveling to Boston College and getting a huge road win. Was that bigger than the LSU game Sunday night?
It probably was from a national perception since it was an SEC team, but it’s proof they are capable of locking into the task at hand.
If FSU football takes care of Louisville as they should? That’s a great sign that we can expect that focus the rest of the season.
