The kickoff returners listed as Deuce Spann, Sam McCall, or Mycah Pittman look to be an upgrade over last year.

Pittman at punt returner was a no-brainer and one of the reasons he was one of the first players in the portal the coaches contacted once the season finished.

Overall, I like this team over last year. I think there’s more talent across the board and better depth. If you recall, the lack of depth was one reason I had major concerns.

However, better depth is why missing Maurice Smith this week isn’t life or death on the offensive line. The Duquesne game will be an opportunity for lots of players to get some game action.

I’m excited to see how these guys perform Saturday. Will they blow through Duquesne the way they’re supposed to? We only have a few more days before we’ll find out!

I’m also curious how much this depth chart will change between now and the LSU game?
