FSU football recruiting received their fourth commitment in August Monday night when three-star composite defensive back Kenton Kirkland chose the Noles over Kentucky. Kirkland is the 14th recruit to commit to the 2023 class, which pushes FSU football to No. 20 nationally.

How high can the Noles climb with the spots remaining in the class? That depends on a couple of things. How many realistic blue-chip targets are left?

How many high school recruits will the FSU coaching staff sign overall? I don’t know if there is enough quality high school players for the Noles to sign 25 prep players.

The coaching staff has shown they will not offer players they believe can’t help the team improve now that they can evaluate recruits in person.

That’s why the coaching staff only accepted 17 high school commits in the 2022 recruiting cycle and brought in an additional 13 players from the transfer portal.

The way things look, I expect FSU to sign between 20-22 high school players and address the rest of the spots with transfer portal players.

Here is a look at five realistic blue-chip players the Noles could gain commitments from and eventually sign.
