FSU football has talented players of which some have not seen any real action in their careers at this point. Some have seen limited action, but the 2022 season could be the time they emerge as major contributors.

FSU football is looking to rebound off its fifth consecutive sub-par season. The record over that period isn’t up to the standard, and head coach Mike Norvell looks to bring the Noles back to prominence.

This FSU football team isn’t as talented as most FSU teams in the past. However, this team still has more talent than 6-7 teams they’ll face on the schedule in 2022.

The question is, can the players from the transfer portal and the young players that got experience last year develop enough in the schemes to be successful? We saw some guys emerge last year out of obscurity like Omarion Cooper, Jordan Wilson, and Malcolm Ray.

Some talent and experience returning on both sides of the ball, but depth is a question mark at some spots.

Players will have to elevate their games for this team to have a shot at returning to respectability.

Notice, I do not expect the Noles to beat Clemson or contend for the ACC title this year. I think their first legitimate chance to do that is a couple of years away. Nevertheless, it’s an exciting time to be around FSU football. It reminds me of when Jimbo Fisher took over and watched that climb back to prominence.

This climb may take a little longer, but we usually appreciate things we have to work hard for a little more.

I want to profile the top five dark horse players that could be impactful in 2022.
