FSU football has the No. 42 ranked recruiting class nationally after the de-commitment of four-star Chris Parson Tuesday evening.

JUCO defensive end Jaden Jones still doesn’t have a ranking on 247 sports, which makes the national ranking artificially lower.

I’d have him as a high three-star at the worst, which would place the Noles inside the top 30s.

The Noles have a few targets coming up in the next couple of weeks that could announce their commitments to the good guys, which could change that perception as well.

Until then, the Noles have 10 commitments and many spots left to fill in the recruiting class. The good news is the coaching staff has built this recruiting class from the line of scrimmage with some key additions on both sides of the ball, with a 50 percent blue-chip ratio.

There are still enough quality targets to make a push into the top 15 or so, but FSU football can’t lay eggs during the season and will need to show progress, and if that happens, the class will be fine despite rival fans praying that’s not the case.

Let’s look at the top three needs remaining in the 2023 recruiting class.
