The inevitable happened with FSU football recruiting Tuesday night when Chris Parson de-committed from the 2023 recruiting class.

It was no surprise, and I gave my quick thoughts on the situation here. However, this post is to address the fallout from the de-commitment and what needs to happen moving forward for the coaching staff.

Most FSU fans understand the issue, so it’s not a bad look from a perception standpoint. The timing of the de-commitment sucked, one day after the Noles got a commitment from the best offensive tackle in years.

I trust the coaching staff in this situation for a couple of reasons. No. 1, they wouldn’t have kept pursuing Brock Glenn if they didn’t think he was an upgrade over Parson. No. 2, there is no way they can allow a recruit like Parson or his father to control what they do recruiting-wise.

Who knows what could happen once a recruit/parents feel like they have some leverage, and the staff has already been burned badly by former recruits.

However, once Parson reacted the way he did with the Dante Moore situation, I think that was a red flag, and the coaching staff made a wise decision to keep pursuing other targets.

Not to mention, Parson committed while Kenny Dillingham was the offensive coordinator/QB coach.
