FSU football has done a solid job addressing the trenches at defensive tackle in the 2022 recruiting cycle.

They had to dip into the transfer portal for some immediate help at defensive end with Jared Verse and already have a solid option with blue-chip legacy Lamont Green Jr. and JUCO product Jaden Jones.

However, a top 100 player nationally added to the class would be the highest-ranked player for the Noles. That’s what they would get with blue-chip defensive end Keldric Faulk. Faulk ranks as the No. 84 player and No. 9 defensive end nationally.

Faulk is officially visiting FSU football this weekend and announced a commitment date for July 5th at 11 a.m. via his Twitter account:

Faulk lists at 6’5″ and 240 pounds with 30 offers. He hails from Highland Home, Alabama, with a top four of Auburn, Clemson, Florida, and Florida State. Faulk visited Clemson on June 3, Auburn on June 10, and Florida on June 17, with FSU getting the final official visit.

Thoughts

Clemson has been the hottest team of the four on the recruiting trail, with over 10 commitments in June alone. They already have two blue-chip pass rushers, but neither should scare off someone like Faulk.

Auburn would be the hometown team, and they need all the help they can get with only two commitments for the 2023 cycle. Faulk would be the first defensive lineman in their class ranked No. 76 nationally. Florida doesn’t seem to have much juice on the recruiting trail, with some of their top targets going elsewhere.

However, the Gators have one blue-chip defensive end in their 2023 recruiting class. FSU football receiving the final official visit might help them in the end. Faulk unofficially visited FSU twice this spring before the official visit this month. Faulk only visited Florida and Clemson once this spring before his officials there.

There are no crystal ball predictions for Faulk. If the Noles could add him to this class, it would be a huge boost of momentum for Mike Norvell and the staff.
