FSU football needs its offense to turn the corner in 2022 if they want to contend to win seven or eight games.

The lack of a passing game hindered the Noles against better defense last year, but the coaching staff went to the transfer portal for help at the wide receiver position.

One of the most important additions was WVU transfer, Winston Wright. He enrolled this spring as the most proven wide receiver on the roster but suffered an injury in a car wreck three months ago that has had him sidelined.

The prognosis wasn’t great initially for Wright to return this year, but he’s been posting some footage of him moving around in a whirlpool.

There’s optimism he’ll return at some point this fall and help the Nole’s offense. Wright posted another hint that his rehabilitation is going in the right direction Thursday night via his Twitter account:

Wright tweeted this shortly after that:

It was cool to see FSU quarterback Jordan Travis reassure him he’s getting closer:

Not only can Wright help in the passing game, but he’d be a threat in the kickoff return game. However, I’m not sure he’d go back to returning kickoffs after this injury heals.

Nevertheless, a healthy Winston Wright would add a dynamic to the FSU offense they haven’t had in quite some time.

The addition of transfer receiver Mycah Pittman and the development of Ja’Khi Douglas, Malik McClain, and possibly Johny Wilson could form a productive and explosive passing game with Jordan Travis.

Not only that, a productive passing game would prevent teams from stacking the box against the run so much, which would allow the FSU offense to flourish consistently for the first time in the Mike Norvell era.

A potent offense matched with a defense that projects to be better than next year? Sign me up.
