Summer Camps

I’ve been saying this for quite some time. The summer camps in June and July will provide an accurate picture of where this 2023 recruiting class is and where it’s headed.

The Noles got a lot of quality players on campus this spring, and it’ll be telling if those players show or not for these summer camps.

If FSU football coaches can get them back on campus, then they continue to have a genuine interest in the Noles. If players don’t show up this summer?

I think the writing is on the wall. It’s not like the six commitments are terrible because they have some quality pieces at important positions. However, their highest-ranked commit is the No. 203 player nationally Keith Sampson.

They have some top 100 players targeted and a couple in the 150-200 range. There are about six more targets from the 200-600 range. The rankings are not anywhere close to final, so it’s possible some commits and targets will receive higher rankings.

However, it does seem like there’s no certainty with most of the targets. That’s why the summer camps will be so important to this recruiting class.

Mike Norvell and the staff did a great job establishing recruiting momentum last summer, coming off a 3-6 campaign.  The problem is they couldn’t close on most of their top targets because of an 0-4 start. Can they do it again this summer? We’ll find out in another month or so. If so, a strong start to the season could change everything.
