2022 NFL Draft: Predictions on which Noles get drafted
By Kelvin Hunt
The 2022 NFL Draft will begin Thursday night and extend through the weekend. First-round will begin Thursday at 7 p.m., and rounds 2-3 will take place Friday, with rounds 4-7 finishing up Saturday.
FSU football had four players drafted last year, the most since the 2018 NFL Draft after a couple of years that only saw three players selected.
The 2022 NFL Draft will feature two players that will likely get drafted, with the possibility of a couple of others depending on how things shake out.
Here’s are my predictions on where they’ll go:
- Jermaine Johnson (DE): 1st round
- Jashaun Corbin (RB): 4th-5th round
- Keir Thomas (DE): 7th round or UDFA
- Meiko Dotson (DB): UDFA
- Jordan Wilson (TE): UDFA
There’s no question Jermaine Johnson will be a first-round NFL Draft selection. His tape from last season, NFL Combine performance, and Senior Bowl performance have all boosted his stock towards a potential top 10-15 pick. Here’s why he’s the best defensive end in the draft.
Jashaun Corbin also benefitted from a strong year at FSU and a strong performance at the East/West Shrine Bowl. His draft stock has increased since this time last year.
Keir Thomas is a guy that had great production at FSU last year, and I’ve seen guys with less production get a look from NFL teams. He wasn’t invited to the NFL Combine but had a strong FSU Pro Day. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a team take a chance on him late or sign him as an undrafted free agent.
Meiko Dotson was often injured after transferring to FSU, but the former nationally leader for interceptions had a strong FSU Pro Day. He clocked a sub-4.5 40-yard dash and had 25 reps on the bench press. He lists 5’10” and 187 pounds, which is enough size to play in the NFL.
Jordan Wilson came on late last season after missing the previous season with an injury. He has great size and measurables at the tight end position, so I could see him signing somewhere as an UDFA.
I’d like to wish the guys good luck over the next few days and we’ll be rooting for all of them to find the best situation possible!
