FSU football: 3 burning questions after 2022 spring camp
By Kelvin Hunt
How Much Can The Offense Improve?
Sometimes I feel like I’m beating a dead horse or making excuses, but the context is the context when talking about the offense last year. Jordan Travis isn’t a great college QB, but the pros outweigh the cons in his game when healthy.
The latter is the x-factor and why it’s such a gamble to not take a transfer quarterback before spring camp. Nevertheless, I feel like his progression over the last 3 to 4 games last season gives promise to 2022(if he can stay healthy).
Can he line up against an elite defense and lead you to victory with his arm? Probably not, but he’s good enough to help the team win at least eight games if he’s not hurt. I think the offense has more talent overall, and the wide receivers should be able to keep defenses honest instead of loading up against the run.
The running back room is deeper, and the offensive line should be better despite folk’s pessimism. They have more depth with the addition of Bless Harris and Kayden Lyles.
The offensive line wasn’t terrible until injuries got into their lack of depth last year. Mike Norvell and coaches can scheme up points.
We saw the offense average over 30ppg with Jordan Travis as the starter last year. If they can maintain that for the season, they’ll win quite a few games.
