FSU football: 3 burning questions after 2022 spring camp
By Kelvin Hunt
How Much Should They Use The Transfer Portal?
I know some FSU football fans want the Noles to take another quarterback in the transfer portal. However, one thing I’ve been consistent about is not wasting scholarships.
I don’t think the coaches are in the business of adding question marks from the transfer portal anymore. If they are not sure the player can help the program, I think they’re passing him nowadays. The question about QB is can a player join the team and learn the offense well enough to help them win games THIS season?
I have my doubts and feel like it’s Jordan Travis or bust at this point. How about using that scholarship for another offensive lineman?
I could see them adding another linebacker, defensive back(if more on the team enter the portal), and wide receiver.
However, I have concerns about the latter based on the Andrew Parchment experiment last year. He didn’t arrive until the summer and never got comfortable with the offense, and was making mistakes on routes late in the season.
I think it all falls back to if players become available with who they think can help the team win games in 2022 and beyond.
