FSU football coaches are in hot pursuit of former five-star Amarius Mims, who entered the transfer portal Sunday afternoon.

It’s good to see, considering offensive tackle is one of the prime positions they need to address from the transfer portal. Mims, a former top 10 recruit overall, visited FSU in November 2019 and stated FSU offensive line coach Alex Atkins was his favorite coach during the recruiting process.

The question FSU football fans want to know is, do the Noles have a real shot at landing him? Right now, it looks like it’ll be a battle between the Noles and Miami.

When I first heard about Miami being in the picture, I thought to myself, Mims didn’t entertain Miami coming out of high school.

Of course, they had a different coaching staff, but Mims didn’t have any ties to Oregon, where Miami’s current head coach was coaching. Mims visited Auburn several times, where Miami’s defensive coordinator, Kevin Steele was coaching.

I know coaches recruit across multiple positions, but would that relationship be enough to get Miami in the door?

Is Miami there solely because of what they may be able to provide from an NLI standpoint? I don’t know, but I know Amarius Mim’s recruitment will answer some questions.
