Adam Fuller Confident

One of the most important things Adam Fuller said when speaking to the media Saturday afternoon was that the defense is playing together as a unit.

That’s something the team has struggled with in the past, players not doing their jobs usually resulted in explosive plays allowed.

However, the defense playing together helped force multiple turnovers in Saturday’s scrimmage.

I think the play of Kalen DeLoach and Tatum Bethune is going to help offset some of what they lost from Jermaine Johnson and Keir Thomas. They should improve the defense from a pass coverage standpoint and provide opportunities for more tackles for a loss. However, Jared Verse had a excellent showing with multiple sacks in Saturday’s scrimmage.

Akeem Dent continues to stack good practices on top of one another at safety. Omarion Cooper will be at cornerback, and it sounds like Sam McCall is working himself into the discussion at cornerback, though I still believe he’s a safety.

It could be that putting him at cornerback is what could give them their best options in the secondary, as opposed to putting him at safety to play behind either Dent or Robinson. Fuller said he likes how they stack up against the run, which stopping the run is priority No. 1 on defense.
