Kalen DeLoach

Redshirt junior linebacker Kalen DeLoach is one of the first players to come to mind when it comes to mentality and production to lead.

In the interview above, one of the first things he talks about is leading and showing the younger players what the expectations are for the program so they’ll be prepared after he’s gone.

DeLoach went from nearly zero production (7 total tackles) in 2020 to start in 2021. His production tied for third on the team with 69 total tackles and had 6.5 tackles for a loss.

DeLoach is a prime example of someone that can say look at what I did, and it’ll hold weight. He’s a hard worker and his mentality is a part of culture change underway in Tallahassee. Which is talented players taking pride in grooming the guys coming after him.

DeLoach should be in line to have a bigger year in 2022 than in 2021 as long as he stays healthy.
