FSU football brought in the No. 18 recruiting class under Willie Taggart in 2019. The recruiting wasn’t horrible on paper rankings-wise, considering the 2018 season was the first time FSU missed a bowl game in 30+ years.

However, when it came to filling needs, this class is one reason why the Noles struggled so much in Mike Norvell’s first year.

Willie Taggart failed to sign a high school quarterback and didn’t sign a single skill player in the class(one signed but didn’t qualify).

Eight of the 21 players are no longer with the program.

Some players from the class began to emerge last season, which equated to more production than I thought we’d initially get from the class, even though it ranked top 20.

Kalen DeLoach was the seventh-highest rated player in the class who’s become the most accomplished after a standout 2021 season.

Let’s look at five players from the 2019 class that need to shine in the 2022 season for the Noles to play at the highest level possible.
