FSU basketball will take on Syracuse in a rematch from FSU’s first ACC conference game. Here is a look at the odds, how to watch, and a prediction.

FSU basketball (9-5, 3-2 ACC) is coming off back-to-back wins over two teams who were previously undefeated in conference play. They’ll look to avenge their first ACC loss when they travel to Syracuse Saturday afternoon.

Syracuse (8-8, 2-3 ACC) has lost three of their last four games, but all three losses have been by five points or less.

FSU basketball vs. Syracuse Odds and Prediction

WynnBET’s updated odds have the Noles as +2.5 point betting underdogs on the road. The over/under point total is 149.5, which implies a 76-73 type of game. Syracuse checks in at No. 67 in the latest KenPom rankings, and the Noles checked in at No. 53. Syracuse has the No. 16 ranked offense and the No. 202 defense. The Orange average 78.4 ppg and have all five starters  averaging in double figures, while shooting 45 percent from the floor. They average 37 percent from three-point land and 72 percent from the charity stripe. They only average 12 turnovers per game.

The first game was one that saw the Noles blow an eight point halftime lead to lose by three points. It’s not a great matchup for the Noles because the Orange have a potent offense, but it’s their zone defense that will likely give the Noles problems. Caleb Mills has a strong game in the first matchup, and I look for Matthew Cleveland to continue his strong plays of late.

FSU’s defense held the Orange in check in the first matchup, limiting them to 35 percent shooting overall. The largest difference in the game as FSU shooting 4 of 30 from three-point land. FSU basketball seems to have more of an offensive identity now than they did in early December, and I don’t suspect they’ll shoot as poorly as the first matchup. However, will FSU’s defense limit the Syracuse offense again? FSU has been playing better of late, and has some confidence going into the game. However, the zone of Syracuse on the road might be too much.

Prediction:  Syracuse 73, FSU 69
