If anyone was questioning FSU football head coach Mike Norvell’s will to turn things around at FSU, I think it’s safe to say he’s putting in the work to make it happen.

Fans whined and complained about linebacker recruiting, and the Noles have a new linebacker coach with Randy Shannon. The Noles failed to sign any high school wide receivers, and the Noles have four new additions from the transfer portal after the commitment of WVU transfer Winston Wright Jr. Sunday night.

There will likely be a change at the wide receiver coaching position when Ron Dugan’s contract expires at the end of the month. Running backs coach David Johnson will likely move to that spot, and Mike Norvell will likely hire a new running back coach.

That’s the spot where most coaches stash an ace recruiter, which the staff desperately needs to pair with Alex Atkins. The good news is Mike Norvell needed to hit on several transfer players at key positions and has done that for the most part.

The Noles signed 15 high school players and have nine transfers in the 2022 recruiting class. They could bring in more transfers, especially if more attrition occurs on the roster.

However, I think they have three positions that would be smart to address before this recruiting cycle ends.
