2021 in Review: Top 5 FSU games of the past year

Despite the trials of this past year, most FSU Sports have had successful seasons and positive moments. Here is Chop Chat to rank the Top 5 games of the year.

Everyone knows that nothing can replace football as the marquee sport in Tallahassee. However, as fans ride the turbulent rollercoaster of the current franchise, it is easy to get lost in all of the success brought by the other sports.

It is also easy to get lost in how much of that success came this year. It seems as though each year gets longer, and longer and January 1st, 2021, feels like an eternity ago.

It was around that time that freshman phenom Scottie Barnes and company were battling through ACC play. Now, the key contributors of that team are playing professionally at various levels.

It was also then that the women’s basketball team rallied around their interim coach to make a surprise appearance in the national tournament. Similarly, FSU beach volleyball made a run in their tournaments as well.

At that same time, FSU soccer was concluding their COVID scrambled season and softball and baseball began to ramp up in preparation for new seasons. FSU Athletes trained to represent their countries in the Summer Olympics, and on the evening of summer sports and the dawn of the football season, we lost a legend.

I will expound on this and more as we recap another adverse year that saw success and heartache and share the top five games in the middle of it all.
