FSU football saw a lot of obstacles in Mike Norvell’s second year.

Mike Norvell has two years and some change under his belt as FSU football head coach. What a second year it has been, as he continued to deal with COVID restrictions for half of the recruiting cycle.

A continued pandemic a roster composed of several new players from the transfer portal cause some growing pains. Although the season ended with a 5-7 record, I still took away several positives regarding Mike Norvell.

There are still some questions that remain due to the nature of how the season played out, but I think I’ve been able to get a good grasp on what Mike Norvell is capable of at FSU.

A lot of it will depend on continuing to fill roster needs from the portal and making sure his entire staff is on one accord. There have already been some changes on the staff, and more could be on the way.

The third year for Mike Norvell was always a pivotal one, but with changes and Florida, Miami, and Clemson?

He’ll need to make more headway than he has in the past two years, and that will likely determine the tone of this exact post I’ll do next year.  Here are my five takeaways from Mike Norvell’s second year in Tallahassee.
