FSU football seemingly missing on all of their high school recruiting targets means they don’t have a ton of recruiting options left from now until National Signing Day. Oregon transfer and FSU commit Mycah Pittman will bolster that unit from the transfer portal, and the Noles have other targets they’ll pursue from there.

While that may be a viable option, there could be a few options already on the roster.

I’ve talked about how Mike Norvell is actively trimming the roster of guys that likely will not be contributors in the future. We’ve seen upwards of 10+ guys already enter the transfer portal over the past few weeks.

I’m sure there’s more to come as coaches communicate with guys on the roster. The idea to to have no dead weight, meaning guys that have no shot at playing at a particular position. However, there could be a few guys with the athleticism to play wide receiver if they’d like to give it a shot. Otherwise, I believe they’ll continue to dwell in obscurity or ultimately enter the transfer portal. Here are three guys that that could serve as stop-gaps at the position.
