FSU football: Potential recruiting strategy to finish 2022 class
By Kelvin Hunt
Spring Enrollees
FSU football took 12 transfers(all were not on scholarship) in the 2021 recruiting cycle, and it’s no surprise that nearly all of them that enrolled for the spring semester helped make an impact during the season:
- Jermaine Johnson
- Keir Thomas
- Jammie Robinson
- McKenzie Milton
- Jarques McClellion
Those are a few right off the top of my head who enrolled early and helped mold the 2021 team. I wrote about how Andrew Parchment not enrolling in the spring likely impacted his play in the fall. FSU needs to find as many players as possible regardless of the position of need to enroll this spring.
I think wide receivers and the quarterback would be most impacted by failing to do so. The linebacker position would likely benefit quite a bit from enrolling in the spring as well. The only problem is there seems to be a limited number of players they are interested in at the moment.
However, another wave of players could hit the portal once the bowl games begin to conclude. Jammie Robinson didn’t hit the portal until December 23rd, and Jermaine Johnson didn’t hit the portal until December 22nd. Keir Thomas didn’t hit the portal until January. So be on the lookout for FSU to make moves in the next week as more players hit the portal.
