FSU football fans had a rough Early Signing Day with the flipping of Travis Hunter.
News of blue-chip legacy recruit Julian Armella pushing his signing back was another part of the day that had FSU fans feeling doom and gloom.
However, there was late Wednesday night, a glimmer of hope appeared as Armella announced he had a huge announcement at 9:45 p.m. ET.
Armella posted the following via his Twitter account, and FSU offensive coordinator Alex Atkins retweeted it with special eye emojis.

Thoughts
The announcement was Julian Armella committing and signed with the Noles. That’s huge news for an FSU football program that felt like the butt of the joke on Early Signing Day. Armella ranks as the No. 126 player overall and No. 5 offensive lineman.
The news gives the Noles 16 commitments for the 2022 recruiting class and moves them from No. 17 to No. 13 nationally. He fits a huge position of need and is one player the coaching staff has to keep recruiting through National Signing Day in February. Armella visited FSU over the last weekend with his mother.
❗️NEW EPISODE ALERT❗️: ESD was a bad look for FSU from an optics standpoint. Discussing how they can use today as a lesson to get back to relevance. A different approach to WR recruiting. Importance of signing AJ Duffy. etc. I appreciate your time 🍢 https://t.co/AimekkoJcm

He said the visit was more so for her to get her approval, and by all accounts, it did. That’s why it was a surprise when he announced he wouldn’t sign earlier Wednesday. Armella is the fifth offensive lineman to sign in the 2022 class, which makes it arguably the best unit signed in nearly a decade (on paper).
I recently recorded the latest episode of the Built For Playmakers podcast(listen above), where I spoke about the importance of FSU getting their ducks in a row to compete with the big boys. It looks like Alex Atkins has his first big catch as an offensive coordinator(even though it hasn’t been officially announced yet). Welcome to Nolenation Julian Armella!
