Kevin Coleman

This recruitment has been all over the place. However, Coleman has been the staff’s No. 1 target at wide receiver the entire time. They got him on campus for the Midnight Madness event in June, and he stayed several days.

The only place he visited after that was in-state Missouri before coming back to FSU football for his official visit at the Notre Dame game. However, Oregon began to increase their pursuit and got him to visit a couple of times. Mario Cristobal took the Miami job and the Oregon offensive coordinator to a head coaching job elsewhere which took Oregon out of the mix.

However, Coleman officially visited Miami the weekend and officially visited USC the weekend before that. Here’s my thinking on his recruitment. FSU hasn’t seriously pursued any other high school wide receivers as of late, and Pittman is the only guy they have targeted in the transfer portal.

I don’t believe USC is a contender since Coleman didn’t have ties to them or Oklahoma before Lincoln Riley left the Sooners

I don’t think he’ll sign with Miami since that’s the only time he has visited, and Cristobal hasn’t named an offensive coordinator. I also don’t think Coleman took any family with him on the Miami visit, but had family in attendance for visit to FSU. I know he was all over social media about Miami and some other visits, but that seemed to be the case whenever he visited somewhere. Coleman has a good relationship with FSU commits Travis Hunter and AJ Duffy. Coleman would fill a huge need at the wide receiver position and ranks as the No. 44 player overall.
