Azareyeh Thomas

Man, if you want to discuss the crazy world of recruiting? Azareyeh Thomas is a player nobody thought would sign with FSU football a few months ago.

The way a former FSU coaching staff handled the recruitment of a family member was an issue.

However, FSU defensive back coach Marcus Woodson kept building that relationship and got Thomas to officially over the weekend. Florida’s head coach Billy Napier not retaining a staff member also likely played a role in FSU gaining more traction. Several 247 Sports crystal ball predictions have flown in for FSU, and predictions for another FSU defensive back target have gone to Auburn.

That leads me to believe the staff feels good about Thomas signing with FSU, not to mention he chose the final weekend before the Early Signing Period to visit officially.

Thomas ranks as the No. 93 player nationally, and that’s higher than Earl Little Jr. The addition of Thomas would give the Noles a player from the panhandle area, where they’ve struggled to establish roots for a while.
