FSU football: 2022 Early Signing Period mock recruiting class
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football coaches and fans look for a strong finish from the Noles as the 2022 Early Signing Period approaches Wednesday.
Despite a 5-7 record, the Noles have the No. 12 recruiting class nationally and No. 2 class in the ACC. It’s an impressive haul, but even more so when you understand FSU began the season 0-4 and held the class together and only suffered two de-commitments after the season started.
I’m not sure they would have held on to either of those two players regardless, but the coaching staff has done a solid job of addressing needs while remaining in the mix for quality blue-chip players. I wanted to give my 2022 mock recruiting class for the Early Signing Period.
There is a report floating around that Oregon’s new head coach Dan Lanning is interested in hiring FSU offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham for the same position at Oregon.
These predictions were with the mindset Dillingham would not take that job, although I can understand why he’d take it.
He’d have control of the offense and 100 percent call the plays, and he’s coached with Lanning before when they were both at Memphis under Mike Norvell. Here’s the committed class as it stands:
- Travis Hunter
- Sam McCall
- AJ Duffy
- Jaylen Early
- Antavious Woody(could delay until NSD in February)
- Devaughn Mortimer
- Qae’shon Sapp
- Rodney Hill
- Daniel Lyons
- Aaron Hester
- Bishop Thomas
- Daughtry Richardson
- Omar Graham Jr.
- Brian Courtney
- Jerrale Powers
- Kanaya Charlton
- Bless Harris(Transfer)
There are two guys that we should keep an eye on, and that’s Woody and Mortimer. Woody has been involved with Auburn and has to do some work in the classroom. Mortimer took an official visit to West Virginia and Louisville in the last couple of weeks. I still believe Mortimer will sign with FSU right now and we’ll see what Woody does. Here is a list of the uncommitted players I expect to sign with FSU football.
