I have given Mike Norvell criticism over some coaching decisions this year. However, I felt this was a game where he made a lot of smart decisions. He was able to steal a couple of possessions that resulted in a field goal right before halftime.
Boston College was deep in their end of the field and would have been content to allow the clock to keep running. Good use of timeouts helped the Noles receive the ball, with 2:26 remaining in the first half. That possession resulted in a field goal, which ultimately proved to be the game-winner.

There was another possession in the third quarter where Norvell elected to punt instead of going for it on fourth down. A penalty helped him decide, but they were going to go for it on fourth and five, which would have been the right call.
The punt pinned Boston College on their four-yard line and made Boston College use a ton of time to score on a possession aided by the refs. The way Mike Norvell handled the FSU possession at the end of the first half and to end the game was smart, too.
He accepted a delay of game penalty to make sure Boston College never had another offensive possession for something crazy to happen.
