FSU football coaches bet on themselves for the second time this year when it comes to bringing recruits and commits to the big stage. The Noles gambled big-time by inviting a who’s who list of recruits.

They lost the game, but the game was competitive, and the atmosphere was electric. The latter was true again for Saturday’s contest against Miami, but the Noles finally came out on top and showed definitive progress towards what they want to become.

The important this is winning the state of Florida when it comes to recruiting.

The Noles already have higher-ranked recruiting classes than Florida and Miami. I predicted they would finish higher than both schools months ago before the season began.

However, FSU beating Miami and Florida looks like they’re imploding, which means FSU football could be in the driver’s seat moving forward.

Florida and Miami failed to capitalize on FSU’s hard times over the past four seasons, and FSU could do major damage if they were to win the next two games, including a win over Florida. FSU commits and recruiting targets took notice of the big win over Miami.

We love to see it! FSU is in the mix with several big-time players: Legacy recruits Marvin Jones Jr. and Julian Armella are both top five players at their positions.

Then there are other players like Wesley Bissainthe, who FSU is battling Miami directly for in this recruiting cycle. Those three players alone would be huge to fill positions of need and as impact players.

This win over Miami will also likely allow the coaching staff to have one final big recruiting weekend before the Early Signing Period. If the Noles finish the season strong, one final recruiting weekend could be huge in adding the necessary players to improve the overall talent on the roster.
