FSU football vs. UNC Tarheels: Best bets for Saturday afternoon
By Kelvin Hunt
First Half Spread
FSU football played poorly in their only road game of the year against Wake Forest. I know it’s supposed to rain Saturday, but I expect the crowd to be north of 50,000, and the Tarheels will look for revenge after last year’s embarrassment.
There’s the history with Sam Howell as a former FSU commit and throwing his first college touchdown pass to an FSU player for an interception, and he’ll want to avenge that performance.
The first half spread is UNC -10, which means if the Tarheels take a lead of something like 21-10 into the half, the bet would win. FSU isn’t typically a team that gets off to a quick start offensively.
North Carolina will likely want to continue the momentum they had from last year’s game when Sam Howell carved up the FSU defense in the second half.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see North Carolina open up aggressively through the air, which has been the weakness of the FSU defense.
I’d take UNC -10 at -110 in the first half.
