FSU football: 5 key moments in ‘Noles win over Syracuse
By Kelvin Hunt
Moment #4
The three-and-out from the FSU offense after getting the goal-line stop allowed Syracuse to get the ball at midfield.
The Orange offense went 49 yards on four plays to score a touchdown to cut the lead to 23-20 with nine seconds remaining in the third quarter. The FSU offense has a huge response to that score with a touchdown score of their own.
FSU went 80 yards on five plays for a touchdown to stretch the lead back to 10 points at 30-20.
Here’s the impressive part, the Noles overcame an incomplete pass and a false start call on the drive. It was second and 15 on the FSU 15 yard-line when Jordan Travis ran for 11 yards and converted the third and four with a pass to Lawrance Toafili.
Treshaun Ward followed that play with a 65 yard run up the middle before the tackle at the five-yard line.
A face mask penalty moved the ball half the distance to the goal line and Jashaun Corbin punched in the touchdown on the first carry.
