FSU football: Pros and cons of starting McKenzie Milton at QB
By Kelvin Hunt
Final Thoughts
I don’t care who starts at quarterback, and I trust Mike Norvell to put the best option out there.
After all, he left Milton in the game when it looked like he wasn’t going to be an option before Jordan Travis’s helmet came off.
I want to see both players used to their strengths. Jordan Travis likely will never be a pure drop-back passer. It’s a risk, but I need to see more designed runs with him, or more one-read if it’s not there, take-off and run type play.
If McKenzie Milton is the quarterback, let him do what he does, and hopefully, his body responds well to the increased workload.
I’m sure both quarterbacks will play this season, so it likely doesn’t matter who the starter is at this point. I hope to see both guys playing against Jacksonville State.
Maybe Jordan Travis will look better against an inferior defense, and we’ll learn more about how Milton’s body responds to actual gameplay. Like Al Davis used to say, Just win, baby!
