FSU football: 8 players deserve Tomahawk Stickers for Notre Dame game
By Kelvin Hunt
Kalen DeLoach/Amari Gainer
FSU coaches talked about the emergence of Kalen DeLoach in fall camp and penciled him in as a starter over Stephen Dix Jr., who started last year as a freshman.
I see why that was the case as DeLoach was all over the field and led the team with eight tackles (four solos) and a .5 tackle for a loss.
DeLoach is the linebacker with the most ability to cover in space, and one of the most impressive things I saw was him coming on a blitz and chasing a running back downfield and making the tackle 50 yards away.
FSU hasn’t had that type of pursuit in years from the linebacker spot, and FSU has to feel good about Deloach’s development in the offseason.
I predicted Brendan Gant to led the team in tackles in my BOLD predictions, but DeLoach may take that award if he continues to produce.
