FSU football: Game-by-game predictions for 2021 season
By Kelvin Hunt
November 6th vs. NC State
This game has come down to who has the better quarterback play the last few times they’ve matched up. Jordan Travis was injured and didn’t play against the Wolfpack in 2020.
Freshman Chubba Purdy got the first start of his career and played like a freshman that hadn’t practiced much in the fall. However, he showed some flashes in the second half of that game.
If FSU is healthy at quarterback, I like their chances in this game, especially since they usually play NC State well at Doak Campbell Stadium.
I should note NC State played without their starting quarterback against the Noles as well. He’ll be back for NC State this year and they are a solid offense with him under center. They aren’t an explosive unit but will try to beat you with 1,000 paper cuts.
This game is a toughy, and who knows what each team will look like at this point in the season. FSU coming off a game against a physical Clemson team probably isn’t the best recipe. My heart wants to put this one down as a win, but my head says otherwise.
Scoring Prediction: NC State 30, FSU 27
Projected 2021 Record: 5-4
