FSU football will begin fall camp Saturday as they prepare for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to visit Tallahassee for the first time since 2014.

The biggest question mark about the entire program is the FSU defense, who was historically bad in 2020.

The offense wasn’t great, but there were glimpses of hope at times, and Mike Norvell’s track record speaks for itself when it comes to offense.

Adam Fuller had a decent track record coming to FSU. He turned around defenses in his first season at Marshall and Memphis.

I’m talking major jumps in improvement, but the culture he inherited coupled with no spring or summer practices made it difficult to place all of the blame on him.

Mike Norvell mentioned 11 young players got over 100 snaps last season, which isn’t a great recipe for success. It’s also why we likely never saw any gradual improvement from the defense.

All of that is wiped clean now, and Adam Fuller has no excuses going into fall camp. They got some experienced players from the transfer portal, and those young players have some game experience.

Most of all, they had a full offseason to prepare for the season. It should be an improved unit, and here are three defensive players to pay attention to in fall camp.
