FSU football: Top 5 dark horse players going into 2021 season
By Kelvin Hunt
Jordan Wilson
Jordan Wilson could have a major impact for the Noles in 2021, but it all may not show up in the stats. The UCLA transfer missed all of 2020 after an injury in fall camp.
Camren McDonald is more of the receiving threat at the position. However, Wilson is a massive human at 6’5″ and 260 pounds and will likely do all of the dirty work at the line of scrimmage.
That dirty work will consist of pass blocking and run blocking but ultimately could be a huge factor in the RPO game in two-tight end sets.
A player like Wilson gives the defense a lot to think about when it comes to defending. He would essentially be an in-line blocker that could go out for a pass.
A player like Wilson can open up things a ton. The added protection in the passing game, capable run blocker, and threat to be open up the seam will be huge for an offense that was limited last season.
He may not have the stats to show for it at the end of the year, but his presence on the field could make the offense substantially better.
