FSU football landing quality quarterbacks used to be a problem the past few years. However, Mike Norvell has quickly changed that narrative.

Norvell signed four-star quarterback Chubba Purdy and three-star Tate Rodemaker after 10 days on the job at FSU in December 2019.

The Noles brought in UCF transfer McKenzie Milton from the transfer portal in the 2021 cycle and have top 100 player AJ Duffy committed for 2022.

Good quarterback play can make the difference in winning several games on the schedule, and Norvell already has his eye towards the future.

2023 QB Chris Parson announced his commitment to the Noles Thursday afternoon on his 17th birthday.

Parson commits to the Noles over other schools like Tennessee, Miami, Iowa, Louisville, Kentucky, TCU, Syracuse, Oregon State, and other smaller schools.

Parson checks in at 6’0β€³ and 190 pounds and ranks as a composite three-star. He ranks as the No. 288 player overall and No. 18 quarterback, but I expect that ranking to change drastically over the next year.

Parson becomes the third high-profile quarterback to commit from the 2023 class. That means the Noles already have their guy before those dominoes begin to fall.

He is the cousin of former FSU great Terrell Buckley and grew up a fan of FSU football. However, he has been a priority for the staff for a while, as they showed him a lot of love as he visited the Noles last month.

The 2022 recruiting class could be the class that ultimately turns the program around, but the 2023 class could take things to the next level if things go well on the field in 2021.

Chris Parson becomes the fourth commit in the 2023 recruiting class that already has some potent offensive weapons. He joins tight end Randy Pittman and wide receiver Vandrevius Jacobs on the offensive side, with FSU legacy Lamont Green Jr. at defensive end.

Parson’s commitment should have a big impact on the 2023 recruiting class as his stock continues to elevate. Happy birthday Chris, and welcome to Nolenation!
