FSU football: Improved QB play can be a gamechanger in 2021

Parting Thoughts
I wrote about the six most winnable games on the 2021 schedule a couple of weeks ago. I also wrote about how FSU football still has more talent than the majority of the teams on their schedule.
Yet, the expectation is the Noles will win between 5-7 games. One reason that’s the expectation is because of the question mark at the quarterback position.
If you told oddsmakers you’d get 2017-18 McKenzie Milton? They’d likely increase FSU’s win total to 6.5 wins.
If we knew how much Jordan Travis would improve over last season? We’d have a better idea of what the possibilities were with the games on the schedule.
There are three automatic wins and likely four toss-up games. Good QB play is the difference going 1-3, 2-2, or 3-1 in those games.
We’ve seen it too many times. If Dabo Swinney starts Deshaun Watson against FSU in 2014(with Jameis Winston suspended), Clemson wins that game. Good quarterback play from Wake Forest and Boston College is why those games are likely coin flip games for the Noles.
However, improved QB play for the Noles likely means they win more of those types of games than they lose.
