FSU football: 2023 QB target Chris Parson sets commitment date
By Kelvin Hunt
The FSU football quarterback position is of great importance to Mike Norvell and the coaching staff. They understand the impact of the role and have emphasized securing quality quarterbacks since arriving at FSU.
It began with the addition of blue-chip QB Chubba Purdy and Georgia product Tate Rodemaker in 2020. The staff added experience with McKenzie Milton in 2021 and have one of the best 2022 quarterbacks committed in AJ Duffy.
Itβs never too early to begin evaluating quarterbacks and the staff has already offered several 2023 and 2024 targets.
One of those is 2023 QB Chris Parson, who visited the Noles last month and came away impressed. He named the Noles his leader and announced a final eight list of schools and a commitment date:
That happens to be the same birthday as my twins Jayla and Jacob. Parson grew up an FSU football fan and is related to former FSU great Terrelle Buckley.
Most of Parsonβs entire family are FSU fans, and he spoke glowingly about his visit to Tallahassee.Β The 2023 rankings are nowhere close to finalization, but Parson ranks as a three-star composite and the No. 157 player overall.
He ranks as the No. 11 quarterback in the class and checks in at 6β0β³ and 190 pounds. Hereβs some recent footage of Parson competing below:
Parson considers himself a guy that looks to throw first but can use his legs when he needs to make something happen. That trait is something Mike Norvell and Kenny Dillingham look for in their quarterbacks. His upside is ridiculous and he has a cannon for an arm.
Itβs why they gave him this type of reception when he visited the Noles last month.
FSU football holds all three 247 Crystal Ball Predictions for Chris Parson. I wouldnβt be surprised to see him commit to the Noles in a couple of weeks. If so, it would be an awesome addition to the 2023 class that already has two quality skill players in tight-end Randy Pittman and wide receiver Vandrevius Jacobs. The Noles are also trending with 2023 wide receiver Santana Fleming.
Stay tuned on July 22nd to see where Parson lands!
