FSU football: Will recruiting momentum continue with Jerrale Powers?
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football recruiting has been red hot in June, and it could continue early into July. FSU captured several commitments from players that officially visited last week.
However, a few of those players decided to wait and announce their decisions at a later date.
One of those players is the three-star tight end, Jerrale Powers, who hails from Duncanville, Texas.
He plans to announce his decision Friday afternoon.
Jerrale Powers has nine offers, and it looks like FSU is battling with Colorado and Oregon State for his commitment. He took official visits to all three, with FSU having the last before his announcement.
The Noles have 100 percent of the 247 Crystal Ball Predictions, with all of them having a six or higher confidence rating. All of those predictions came while Powers was on his official visit last week.
If Powers chooses the Noles, it would be a solid start to the month with his teammate and FSU target Jaylen Early announcing his decision a month later.
A commitment would give the Noles 15 players for the 2022 recruiting cycle, with 10 spots remaining for high school players if they choose to not use any scholarships for a player from the transfer portal.
I wrote about seven blue-chip players they could land in the 2022 recruiting cycle. They landed one player off that list with Qae’shon Sapp, but the majority of those remaining will not be announcing their decisions anytime soon.
There are also a couple of blue-chip players that are not on that seven player list that could end up committing to the Noles as well.
They could add another spot if they don’t use the lone scholarship they would have used for Cain Madden or Stacey Wilkins in the transfer portal.
Stay tuned to Chopchat, as we should know if Jerrale Powers will be joining the good guys in a few hours.
