FSU football went through the lowest of lows in 2020. The team had its worst record in our lifetimes, winning only three games.

The season was disappointing for first-year head coach Mike Norvell and his coaching staff. The COVID-19 pandemic took away almost an entire spring practice and made fall camp and workouts, unlike anything we’ve seen before.

The players had to experience unprecedented protocols to have a chance at playing every Saturday. Unfortunately, several games had to be canceled, and the school lost millions of dollars throughout the season.

There was the lackluster play from the QB position and the wide receivers. The FSU defense was on par with the 2009 defense for the worst we’ve seen in our lifetimes.

Nevertheless, that season brought us to where we are now with a coaching staff that has somehow made last year a distant memory with the work exhibited at spring practice and the momentum seen on the recruiting trail. that will be imperative to the rebound of the FSU football program.

Despite last season, the fan base seems to be positive despite the expectations of winning only 5-7 games realistically.

I mean, that would be an improvement over last season wouldn’t it? That’s not the standard, of course, but I think fans are anxious to see if the climb back to the top begins this year after four years of falling to rock bottom.

This year reminds me of the 2010 season in Jimbo Fisher’s first year as head coach. Mike Norvell will have had a full year under normal conditions to make an impact on the program.

That’s reason in and of itself to be excited about the upcoming 2021 season. Here are five reasons you should be counting down the days until Notre Dame.
