FSU football coaches have had to be creative in their recruiting approach after dealing with the pandemic during their first year on the job.

We’ve already seen the Noles beat the competition in a couple of ways this offseason. Mike Norvell opened up the FSU spring game to the public, which included nearly 100 recruits who attended and got to experience Tallahassee.

Mike Norvell also hosted the wildly popular Midnight Madness event last week, which featured several players ranked in the top 150.

Mike Norvell has been a step ahead of most coaches when it comes to recruiting, and the latest edition is the FSU Mega Camp that took place Sunday.

The Mega Camp consisted of tons of other colleges on the FSU campus along with high school coaches bringing players up to be evaluated in person by those colleges, including FSU football.

Mike Norvell and the staff only had a few weeks of hosting recruits and high school coaches before the pandemic shut everything down.

The relationships had to be built over Zoom calls outside of a couple of meet-and-greet events the staff held in Florida.

It only made sense for Mike Norvell to coordinate an event that would accomplish multiple things at one time. Here are three ways the Mega Camps will pay dividends for the Noles.
