FSU football: Former Noles believe program going in right direction
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football has a lot of good momentum under Mike Norvell’s guidance. The coaching staff addressed several needs on the roster, and recruiting is experiencing an uptick with more blue-chip players.
They have figured out ways to get recruits on campus during the dead period and practices seem to be at a different level according to practice reports.
Who better to confirm those reports than former players visiting practice while preparing for the NFL Pro Day on Monday, March 22nd?
Asante Samuel Jr., Hamsah Nasirildeen, Joshua Kaindoh, Marvin Wilson, Tamorrion Terry, and Janarius Robinson all spoke with the media Friday about several topics.
One of them was how they felt about the future of the FSU football program under Mike Norvell:
Parting Thoughts
Could all of this be former players telling us what we want to hear? Absolutely, after all, they are back on the FSU football campus and want to present things in a positive light.
However, Asante Samuel Jr. and Hamsah Nasirildeen are two players who I take at their word. Those guys always did things the right way during their time at FSU and are among the few that developed their talent over the last three-four years. That’s why they are two of few blue-chip recruits that lived up to their recruiting ranking coming out of high school.
The organization and attention to detail is the thing for me. There is no flying by the seat of your pants and hoping things work out. The coaching staff seems to coach the same way they ask their players to prepare.
That means they are putting in the work in every aspect and evaluation. As long as there are no hiccups regarding COVID and players missing practice sessions, I think we’ll see the results of their hard work this fall.
