FSU basketball (16-6, 11-4 ACC) has had chances to win the ACC Regular Season and ACC Tournament Title and choked away both opportunities against inferior competition.

That sad part about the losses is the Noles beat themselves with poor effort and a record number of turnovers in the ACC Tournament game.

How does a team shoot over 50 percent from the floor and hold their opponent to 42 percent and still lose?

FSU basketball turned the ball over 25 times, and Georgia Tech only turning the ball over seven times. The points-off turnovers was the difference in the game.

The referees were terrible as they didn’t call any fouls in the first half and then began to call everything under the sun in the second half.

Georgia Tech shot 28 free throws to just 14 for FSU, with some of those free throw attempts coming at the end of the game. However, the Noles have nobody to blame but themselves for how they played Saturday night.

MJ Walker continues to play abysmal with eight turnovers, and Scottie Barnes had six. At least a third of the turnovers had nothing to do with what Georgia Tech did on defense.

The Noles simple threw the ball away unforced at least six times out of bounds and another 3-4 times trying to throw the ball in the post over Georgia Tech’s 1-3-1 defense.

Parting Thoughts

The Noles came out flat again for a game(color me surprised) with Georgia Tech punching them in the mouth right off the bat. FSU was lucky the Yellow Jackets only scored four points off four turnovers in the first five minutes of the game.

FSU came out down one point in the second half and was more assertive, accumulating a nine-point lead at one point before allowing Georgia Tech back in the game and switching the momentum.

It was a game FSU basketball deserved to lose, and they’ll make a quick exit out of the NCAA Tournament if they keep playing this way.
