FSU football coaches are in overdrive sending offers to players in the 2022-23 recruiting classes.

They have offered players from Mississippi, South Florida, Central Florida, and the latest is a defensive tackle from Camden, South Carolina.

The Noles had some success in the Palmetto State in 2021, signing three-star wide receiver Joshua Burrell. Former Nole Auden Tate also hails from the state.

Xzavier McLeod announced his offer via his Twitter account Thursday evening:

Like most 2023 recruits, McLeod doesn’t have a composite ranking or any ranking I could find. McLeod checks in at 6’5″ and 290 pounds with offers from FSU, Kentucky, and South Carolina.

The good news is Burrell’s hometown of Bythewood, South Carolina, is only 30 minutes away from McLeod’s hometown of Camden. I’m not sure how well Burrell knows McLeod, but there has to be some connection since they are from the same area.

I like knowing the kid put in extra work during the summer while a pandemic raged everywhere.

The tweet gives you an idea of who he was interested in at the time, and FSU got their offer in before all of those schools. I like he said he looked forward to building a relationship with FSU in his offer tweet.

He already has great size and looks like he has a good motor. He does look like an Odell Haggins special, a player that gradually develops into a productive player. However, there’s a lot of time for him to continue developing between now and when he graduates high school.

I keep talking about how FSU coaches need to address the defensive tackle position in the 2022 cycle. They’ve already offered nine defensive tackles for 2023, so they know what needs addressing on the roster.
