Malcolm Ray

Defensive tackle Malcolm Ray makes the list, and probably is a player that’s often forgotten about from the 2019 class.

A three-star, Ray was thought to be one of the most underrated players in the class after getting co-signed by some south Florida folks as one of the best defensive tackles in that area.

The defensive unit underachieved and needed depth from the transfer portal to make the coaching staff feel comfortable for the upcoming season.

Ray redshirted in 2019 and only appeared in six games for the Noles in 2020, finishing with two tackles, and both of those came in the Pittsburgh game.

I put Ray on the list because he’s talented and seems to fit what the Noles want to do along the defensive line in the future.

The Noles didn’t sign and enroll a defensive tackle in the 2020 recruiting cycle and didn’t sign any true defensive tackles in 2021.

The 2021 season is where Ray needs to make his presence felt, or he’ll likely be passed up on the depth chart by younger players.
