Adam Fuller’s Defense

I’m sure reading those three words sent chills down your spine and not in a good way. Make no mistake Adam Fuller is on the hot seat.

I believed in Adam Fuller when hired, and missing spring and all the practice time had a big effect on their performance in the fall.

I think Mike Norvell believes that too, after all, a lot of teams that normally field good defenses were not good last season.

I’m likely in the minority, but I believe Mike Norvell made the right call by not firing him after last season. The guy didn’t get a chance to implement his defense or gain the trust of his players.

He lost valuable practice time repping fundamentals and lost time, where he could have evaluated them in-game settings to learn their strengths and weaknesses.

There will be no excuses going into 2021, provided everything stays as close to normal as possible. The transfers brought in have experience and will be physically ready to play.

This FSU defense must improve considerably in 2021 if Adam Fuller plans to be in Tallahassee for a while. The good news is, it has nowhere to go but up.
