QB Situation

FSU football will go into the 2021 season in better shape at the quarterback position than they have in the past several seasons.

The addition of UCF transfer McKenzie Milton gives an instant boost to this group. Jordan Travis earned a lot of experience last season, and the coaches have a lot of game tape to evaluate to see what he does well and needs to improve on.

Chubba Purdy missed a lot of fall camp with a broken collarbone after not enrolling early. However, he got a small taste of live game action before missing the rest of the season.

Tate Rodemaker didn’t get the full benefit of being an early enrollee due to the pandemic. However, he was able to get some snaps in live-action last season.

The biggest question mark is who’ll be the starter? Most presume it’ll be Milton, but will he be able to stay healthy the entire season?

Jordan Travis as well, whose style lends him to getting injured more frequently.

Chubba Purdy was injured while playing last year and got banged around in the times he played. So, while the depth and experience are a lot better, there are still three-quarterbacks with an injury history.

Good quarterback play can help mask an o-line that’s not great. Here’s to hoping the injury bug finally stays away from these guys and the entire program, for that matter.
