FSU football has gotten off to a great start with its 2022 recruiting class. The staff took advantage of the pandemic and were able to get into their evaluations and send offers out.

They have five commitments and are not ranked No. 6 in the nation, although it’s still early in the rankings process.

The latest addition of four-star quarterback Nicco Marchiol Sunday brought out lots of reactions from FSU recruits and commits.

The players posted their reactions to the commitment on Twitter:

The recruiting aspect was something I mentioned regarding how Marchiol’s commitment would impact the FSU football program. He’s always active on Twitter and has been pro-FSU for quite some time.

He was posting pictures with FSU gear on before he committed on Sunday. A major flex was he and his family flying from Arizona to Tallahassee during a pandemic to film his commitment on campus.

That should hold a lot of weight regarding how strong his commitment is to the Noles. That was one problem with Luke Altmyer last recruiting cycle, meaning he never tried to visit Tallahassee after committing.

The way Marchiol committed should go a long way in his influence of other recruits. He’s already recruiting for the Noles across social media platforms.

That’s five star offensive lineman and legacy recruit Julian Armella, who’s one of the most important recruits in this recruiting cycle.

It’s great to see the response from these players of future classes. FSU football is at a pivotal moment where they have some momentum and need to deliver on the field when the season comes.

Recruits want FSU football to be great again, and all they need to see is the Noles showing improvement in 2021. If that’s the case, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the 2022 recruiting class finish top 10.
